7 out of 10 Women are Not Informed of Reconstruction Options

And the American Society of Plastic Surgeons is working hard to make sure that every woman is aware of her choices!

The No Surrender Breast Cancer Foundation is  proud to be a part of Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day, which is October 17th, across the country.

A sneak peak from today's NY Post.

This is so true, Gina. I am amazed at how many women only know the basic options, or the options that their PS offers. I want to shout and scream every time a woman says, I was told my only options are (fill in the blank) or (fill in the blank). I think this practice of many reconstructive surgeons shows a lack of integrity. And most website that discuss reconstructive options are not unbiased (usually info is put together by a particular PS). I always tell people to visit this website that is put up by a nonprofit (not a PS!). http://www.breastreconstruction.org or to read Kathy Stelgo's book:
The Breast Reconstruction Guidebook: Issues and Answers from Research to Recovery which will has vbeen revised and will be released in Late November 2012.
